“Writing is not necessarily something to be ashamed of, but do it in private and wash your hands afterward.”

-R.A. Heinlein

(The author, hard at work.)

S. Schilling Kreutner was born in Small Town, Kansas. She earned a bachelor's degree in English/Education from Wichita State University and taught English Composition/College Reading to Wichita East night school students.

She moved from Kansas to St. Louis and back again, then on to Poughkeepsie, and then the San Francisco area, where she paused for a bit and nearly added a degree in Design from UC Berkeley before she quit to welcome her first child. From there, she moved to Wisconsin (brrr!) and finally Maryland, where she currently resides with her two children, an absusive cat and various, rotating rodents. In her spare time, she researches obsessively on just about any topic, paints digitally, gardens, and builds monstrous purple playhouses in her backyard.

She describes herself as a Jim Butcher fangirl obsessed with squirrels.
